Concussions — A Few Sobering Thoughts

I ran across a clip, earlier today, of an interview with Dr. Donald Receveur, having to do with some of the long-term ramifications of concussions, which is worthy of some careful consideration.  Until just recently, the prevailing opinion in the medical community has been that a concussion is a temporary injury, and those who receive one should recover completely within six months.  However, recent research has shown that this is often not the case at all.

This video brings up some topics for discussion that should be on the minds of anyone who participates in activities which can result in concussion, and their families, as well as those who care for these individuals.  I know I’ve posted on this topic several times previously, but I think it’s important to prevent permanent disabilities if we can.  Comments, anyone?
